The Mini-mini-drone arrived today. Thank God that it needs to be charged after about 2 minutes, or I wouldn’t be able to do anything else. Landing it on the stereo was my biggest achievement so far. Next stop window sill!

Nah, they snap right off and pop back on. There’s a spare set of blades but I don’t trust that thing to outlive the blades, if I’m honest.

Saw something similar with my laser-thermometer-gun-thingy, today. Basically “arriving between next week and next spring”. The “on time” message adds insult to insury.

They usually are way faster and probably only do this to prevent complaints, but still...

My son bought one with his own money while we were at the hobby shop. When we got home, I warned him to keep it out of the kitchen area (open floor plan) and make sure all glasses/cups with liquid were out of the living room. Within ten minutes, he flew it into the kitchen and in a panic, chopped the throttle, promptly landing in the pan of enchilada filling cooking on the stove.

The electronics survived a thorough rinsing, but I had to replace all four motors. Enchilada sauce infiltrated them and they seized. The hardest part was soldering those tiny wires!

Wow, you truly are a good dad. Replacing those tiny motors must have been a PITA. Was he old enough so that you could turn it into a lesson on soldering and stuff, getting some father son time out of it, or did you have to do it alone?

I have used it. It sometimes has issues saving the video correctly but I don’t know what that is. It just uses Micro SD so it’s pretty easy to find a card for it.

No. They have one like that but it’s more expensive and the screen is in the transmitter and is probably bad.

Thanks! It was a lesson in soldering for both of us. Most of my soldering is done on things much larger. Both of my kids have learned the basics.

Since I don’t have a nice soldering station with alligator clips and a magnifying lens, it took four hands with the assistance of forceps, magnifying glasses, and a couple of headlamps.

I bought the same one a couple months ago. It is a BLAST to use.

I also have a proper big sized one, and the little one helped me manoeuvre the big one with a lot more confidence.
